Around 1763, Christopher Durbin, son of Samuel and Ann, married Margaret Braun. Beyond that, we know little about the life of this colonial-era couple. It is believed they had ten children. The fourth of these was John J. Durbin, born in 1769, from whom our branch of the family descends.
We do know one other important fact: Christopher and Margaret relocated our Durbin line from Maryland to Kentucky. Their son Edward was married in Maryland in 1779, while another son, Joseph, married in Kentucky in 1789. From this, we can infer that the family moved sometime during the 1780s—possibly alongside the family of Elisha and Rebecca Logsdon, whose daughter Patience would soon connect the Durbin and Logsdon families a second time.
Christopher lived until 1825, dying at about fifty-nine years old. Margaret lived until 1840, reaching the age of eighty-one.
