Robert Durbin, the seventh and youngest child of John and Patience Durbin, was born in Kentucky in 1812. He married Elizabeth Ann Hill in 1833, and together they had nine children. Their seventh child, Pius Anselm Durbin, was born in 1847.
Elizabeth died around 1855 at the age of 38. Robert remarried Corinna Wise in 1858, and after her death around 1861, he married Mahala Perry. Little is known about his second and third marriages.
Robert lived a long life, dying in 1892 at the age of 80.
